Karen worked for five years as Creative Director at Evenson Design Group, a prominent design firm known for creating award-winning corporate identity systems, brand and merchandise development programs. She spearheaded the implementation of interactive design in the mid 90s.
She was the Creative Director on a large-scale project for Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure, for which she lead three Project Managers in creative design and development for thousands of products and packaging for Jurassic Park, Seuss Landing and the park's entrance, Port of Entry. The teams developed over 300 units of licensed, non-traditional theme-park retail merchandise for each "island". Every design was an extensions of the corresponding story line.
1984-1994
Karen began her design career in New Orleans after earning a BFA in commercial art from the University of New Orleans. At that time she co-founded a small design studio. Her combination of traditional design skills and computer skills has given her the tools to be a well-rounded and firmly grounded graphic designer.
Karen's work has been recognized internationally for design excellence.
